BIO – Bonnie McMahon Taught to dance at a young age by her mother, Valerie McMahon, 1944 Australian International Ballroom Amateur Champion and professional Adagio Dancer. Participated at the Pre-Championship level in both Standard and Latin competitor, International style throughout Canada, as well as performing as a member of the Toronto based German Canadian Club Blue/Silver Latin Formation Team, coached by Jeff Hansen. Competed in Student/Teacher International Standard and Latin events and Pro-Am events with World Coach, Pete Pedersen, in BC. Performed as a member of the West Coast Impressions Latin Formation Team of B.C., coached by Barbara Child and Lee Wakefield. Enjoyed an accomplished Amateur career as a Championship Performer in International Style Standard and Latin Student/Teacher and Pro-Am Events competitions in Canada and the USA. Received many commendations for styling, musicality, footwork and choreography. Began her professional career in 1995, teaching group classes and private lessons at the Vancouver Ballroom Dance Club. Coached by U.K. Champion, Martin Harvey, in International Syllabus, in teaching techniques and character interpretation of all 10 dances. Currently, teaching the Standard and Latin Group Classes at the Vancouver Ballroom Dance Club, as well as private lessons for individuals and/or couples.
